Michael Eavis: 'We won't repeat last year's Glastonbury mistakes'

Glastonbury festival organiser Michael Eavis has acknowledged that there were organisation problems at last year's festival, but has promised they will not be repeated.

Speaking to The Times, Eavis responded to questions about dealing with bad weather, and claims that some punters had been turned away by bus drivers leaving the site because they were too muddy.

"I thought the criticisms were valid last year," he said. "I can't turn back time, but what I can do is address the problem this year. There's extra camping space. We've ordered in lorryloads of concrete sleepers which will effectively double the seating."

Speaking about the aforementioned claims about buses, Eavis said: "We're working with different people this time and that simply won't happen again."

Kerry Katona: 'It's Too Soon For Charlotte Church to Have Another Baby'

Kerry Katona thinks Charlotte Church is taking on too much by having another baby so soon, and the Welsh star needs time to enjoy being a mum

Charlotte, 22, announced earlier this month she is expecting her second child -- just 9 months after having daughter Ruby with rugby player Gavin Henson, 26.

But mum of two Kerry reckons the singer-turned TV presenter should have waited a little while.

She writes in her OK! magazine column, "Charlotte Church is pregnant again, which means shes pregnant twice in one year and I thought I was bad!

"I only left it 11 months between Heidi and Max but my opinion is its too soon for her. You want to enjoy your first and learn how to be a mum.

Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry, 27, is mum to Molly, 6, and Lily-Sue, 4, with ex husband Brian McFadden.

Charlotte will return to TV screens with The Charlotte Church Show on Channel 4 next month.

Pete Doherty and Carl Barat hold songwriting sessions together

Former Libertines Pete Doherty and Carl Barat have reportedly been writing songs together and are considering using them for future release.

According to The Sun, the pair had been writing songs for a musical together before Barat was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, but are thinking of keeping some of the songs to record together themselves.

The newspaper quotes an anonymous source as saying: "Songs have been pouring out of the pair and now they're considering holding back a few compositions to record and maybe release in the future."

Since being hospitalised Barat has said that he hopes to be fit to perform with Dirty Pretty Things at Glastonbury.

Leave a get-well-soon message for Carl Barat on the NME Office Blog now.

R. Kelly Remix Of Mariah Carey's 'Touch My Body' Includes New-Album Announcement

The R. and MC? Hmm ... that's one we never heard before. R. Kelly has jumped on Mariah Carey's #1 song "Touch My Body."
"Hey, it's the remix killer, and I think she wants me to feel her," Kells sings. The Pied Piper also boasts about shining, drinking and two-stepping in the club. And he promises to kiss any place on Mariah's body she wants: "Girl, if you let me, I'm gonna touch it/ But if I touch it, I'm gonna wanna hit it." Later, he mimics Mariah's bridge: "If some honies up in here that want me to touch her body/ Touch it/ Let me hear you say, 'I-i-i-i do.' "
While the R. maintains that his vocals on Mariah's song are unofficial (he calls it a "freestyle" on the track), he does make the first public declaration about his new LP. He tells the people that he'll soon release 12 Play: Fourth Quarter, the follow-up to the Chicago legend's 12 Play and its two sequels, TP-2.com and TP-3: Reloaded. While Kelly's label, Jive Records, hasn't made an announcement about the album, except to say it's coming out soon, it has confirmed that "Hairbraider" is the first single.
In the new single, Kelly sings that he's totally enamored with his stylist because, not only can she give his mane some cool designs, the woman works all night, whether it be in the bed or the salon chair cooking up a do.
A picture of Kelly with golden blond hair was posted on his MySpace page recently, but his rep swears that the R. hasn't gone Sisqó on us. The look was specifically created for the video, which was shot in Chicago a couple of weeks ago.
In addition to his "Touch My Body" takeover, Kelly also made an unofficial remix of Kanye West's "Flashing Lights" recently.

Canadian Idol Top 24: Katherine St-Laurent

Katherine St-Laurent, 16
Otterburn Park, Que.

One of the perks of being on Canadian Idol is the celebrity life the contestants lead for the duration of their run on the show.

And for those who have never done anything professionally in the music world, its a lot of fun to be pampered and having everyone making a fuss over you.

Ive never really had a professional photo shoot and professional makeup done, so its really great, but I find Im being spoiled, says Katherine St-Laurent, 16, from Otterburn Park, Que.
Being the youngest in the competition certainly has its advantages for St-Laurent, as well. Being surrounded by her fellow hopefuls -- most of whom have some type of musical experience -- allows St-Laurent to pick up tips about what to do on stage, choosing the right song and how to be a little more confident when performing.

Im learning a lot from them, says St-Laurent, who has been singing since she was six.

St-Laurents singing style takes her more into country-rock -- drawing comparisons to artists like Jewel and Sheryl Crow. For St-Laurent, winning this competition is going to take a lot of hard work, but with the right choices and advice, shes up for the challenge.

I think that Im a hard worker, and Im going to work hard to get this.  Music is my passion and this is what I want to do, she says. So even if I dont make it all the way, Im going to keep working to get my career started.
